WTF?!? THEY SAY WHITE PPL R RACIST?!?

What do you think MTV is? And as a matter of fact there are holidays to celebrate not only european decendants, but also hispanics, asains, and indians. The whole point of this month is to have the population remember the unjust things that anyone not of "white" origions had to endure due to ignorance and prejudice so that such atrocities don't repeat themselves. It's to educate that we're all equal and that black history is part of what makes the world as great as it is today. So as you turn on your light remember who invented the filiment that allows it to stay on. I mean sorry I went off on a rant and all, but shouldn't you consider all things before you say they're bad?

My opinion has already been stated in a blog post, but I'll say something here.

I know you've heard that comment on black history month from someone else. It seems to be a real hot button issue with racists right now. Just another way for people to try to turn America grey. Stuff like this happens all the time, like with that stent of "Freedom Fries" and when the guy tried to take "In God We Trust" out of the American Pledge.

Truth is that Black History Month was started by Carter Woodson in 1929, and it was not intended to shove anything in anyone's face. It was not done in rememberence of the hardships they've gone through it was merely done to show some of the acomplishments of black people in focus.

Such impressive figures such as Malcom X, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, and eventually even Woodson himself have been displayed proudly and remembered during this month. It's a way for african americans to go back to thier roots and remember all the people that stood up for the freedom they enjoy now.

You may not like the world as it is, but you shouldn't deny another person the chance to find thier own heratige. There are alot of black people I know who don't even know who MLK are!

If you have any more issues on racism read my blog on it. I'll cut you alot of slack due to the fact you're only 16, and you've got alot of people telling you alot of things. You're standing on a threshold right now, wether you know it or not, so you had better tred carefully with your thoughts over the next couple of years or you're going to turn into a serious hardcore racist.

Doing what's right isn't always popular, and doing what's popular isn't always right.

MLK did plenty, but what he did wasn't aginst slavery. It was for equality between black and white people, as in not being racist. From the way you've been talking I'm not suprised you didn't know that.

Dear, you're getting angry for reasons you don't even know. I'll admit that there are too many lazy black people, but at the same time there are too many lazy white people, lazy asians, lazy mexicans or just plain lazy people.

Nowhere, ever, has it been mentioned that black people feel they deserve a month to themselves. Black History Month is an attempt by a black man to find his own heratige and it became something of a tradition in the african american community. I'm sorry if you can't agree with that, and I am unable to see the unbelieveable torture it seems to be putting you through.

As for what black people deserve, I'll admit and agree they do not deserve any special treatment. If you haven't noticed they don't get any special treatment 95% of the time. However there are still some places where whites opress blacks as if they were a crap stain on the undies of America. I've been to a place where people wanted to kill ME for opening the door for a feeble old black woman in a wheel chair. However, I don't see why they deserve to be back in slavery.

I believe in equality of the colors, but I also understand that we're not the same. BET is totally understandable, as white people and black people have different tastes in television. Just as an asian would more than likely love to sit down and watch his favorite [insert asian styled television show here], a black man would probably like something different than your average white/mexican/anybody.

You're starting to sound as bad as the people who say I can't put a Nativity scene on my lawn, or say "Merry Christmas", just because it offends you or you don't understand it. You won't even take the time or consideration to research the thing you're bashing, or take a moment to consider the feelings involved on the other side of the argument because you're too busy trying to make a name for yourself. (Though I think that's a bit of a stretch, considering this is just a blog.)

In closing, knock it off. You're whining about something because it doesn't involve you. If this keeps up I can see you going aginst anything else on the calender that doesn't say "JellyBean Welcome" in some sort of subtext. Hell, why don't you just move out of the country so you can defame Flag Day?

Jelly, you need to relax. You asked for other peoples opinions on the subjet, you can't expect to for everyone to agree with yours.

You've continually missed, dodged, or blatently twisted my points to suit your needs instead of trying to understand that black people are people too. You've demanded white equality when all you're sitting and doing is building more of a gap.

WET exists in basic form of cable! Just because we don't plaster WHITE on the title doesn't mean it isn't there. The majority of shows on nowadays are white oriented, and some of the most popular shows of all time have been fully white (Sienfield, Friends, Fraiser, ect.). The reason BET was created was so that black people wouldn't have to scour the TV guide to find shows like Family Matters or Cosby, or to find good Black reporters, or to catch up on the black community.

But that's the thing, they had to create that channel because all of those things were hard to find. Instead of trying to fight for equality, they settled to be able to make everything easier to access. To that point you could say that BET is racist, but aginst black people for setting limitations aginst thier own entertainment.

The problem with your ideas is you're getting personal, and bringing in personal feelings without explination. Your arguments twist themselves. You complain for equality of the races, but demand for blacks to be put back in slavery. Where's the equality in that?

I respect someone's beliefs, but that doesn't mean they're right. Just because someone believes it's a good idea to run into a school after being bullied and shoot up a couple people, does that make it right?

You claim that you don't care about black persons feelings, but you can acknowladge that they have feelings. You might want to think about that. A black person does have feelings, and it's not up to you to care about them or not but you will be looked down upon if you treat them as if they don't matter.

You know, I've gone on and on about my thoughts, true facts and such but I've yet to hear your full side of the argument. Why do you feel black people should be enslaved, and why do these things bother you so much? Take your time and think about it, and whatever you've got to say I'll listen to and acknowladge just so long as you make a good point. Maybe some things have happened to you in the past, but all I know is that you seem to have very strong reasons. Make it worth reading, because at this point "I just do" won't just do.

Exactly William no1 else has a month set apart for themselves so therefore black ppl shouldnt either.

second off: you should really watch what you say online. i mean, yeah, its your opinion, but when u say it like that, your automatically labeling urself by saying, "HEY!LOOK AT ME! I'M AN IGNORANT PERSON!!!!"

honestly, i dont think anyone deserves a month. every race did something to deserve that.

what did the caucaians do?

they stole the land from American Idians and  they were actually lazy enough to force African-Americans to do the dirty work to keep their hands clean.

what did African-Americans do?

their descendants sold them to the Caucasians to be slaves.

So if you want to get technical, white people and black people are equal because they both did some stupid shit.

so before your start preaching, know what you are talking about so you talk SENCE not NONSENSE.
